Whoare we?
YOMU stands for Your Online Museum.
In Japanese, the word means “to read.”
Our work is helping you read the art.

Our visionthe Renaissance of the visit.
Every museum should be able to offer a visit that fits the person taking it. Today that almost never happens. You read the same labels as everyone else, follow the same route, and leave having understood a fraction of what you saw.
YOMU starts there. You scan an artwork, and the explanation adjusts to you: your language, your age, whatever you care about that day. A conversation, a quiz, a video, a game. For every partner museum we build a personalized mediation and a path that is never quite the same from one visitor to the next.
It is an app and a web platform, shared across all of our partner museums. You keep your favorite works there, you see upcoming exhibitions, and you slowly build your own museum of memories.
We call this the Renaissance of the visit: a new way of looking, where AI is used to give each visitor their own version of the exhibition.
The origin
Why I started YOMU
I studied engineering in tech, but design and product are what always pulled at me. I knew that was the work I wanted to do.
I go to museums often, and I kept leaving with the same frustration: beautiful works in front of me, and nothing that really helped me understand them. Little interaction, little context, audioguides that haven't changed in twenty years.
I looked for something that would make the visit feel alive and fun. I couldn't find it. So I started YOMU, with one simple idea: scan any artwork and get an explanation made for you.
